Car Games

Parents and their young travelers read a story,
 made maps, played tic tac toe and played card games.  
They also got to watch a movie and learn about new
playaway views available for checking out.

Special K Makes a Home for Fish

 listened to some great stories and made aquariums out of paper plates.

Book Buddies 2012

Together with a cool teenage book buddy,
 these young readers are practicing their reading and listening skills 
and doing corresponding crafts. 

Olympic Dreams: The Toddler Games

Toddlers ages 1 -3 tried their skills at ten Olympic events that included: 
tunnel crawling, ball and bat skills, balance beams and stepping stones.  
These  young Olympians even earned a special metal for their efforts.

Summer Learning Acadamy Visits the Farmington Library

Grades 3 and 4, from the Farmington Learning Acadamy, came to explore the Library , pick up their summer reading prizes and select more books to read.
 Look for the purple tee shirts with our "Dream Big" moon around town. Farmington resident students in grades k-6 receive these shirts for registering for the summer reading program at the library.

 To join in on the Fun Angry Birds phenomenon 20 children joined together for an Angry Birds Party. Along with our trusty volunteers and Ms. Pat , we had a ball.

Special K Is Back

A "special" program designed with soon-to-be Kindergarteners in mind is starting up again this summer.  Students learn basic concept skills and make crafts with fun materials.  These children practice school routines and schedules and by the end of this program they are well prepared for an elementary school day.

Bejeweled Tweens

In this tween program these beautiful patrons learned how to create exotic earrings and necklaces.  These jewelers also learned how to manipulate needle nose pliers and soft wire.  A second session has been scheduled and making button bracelets is planned.

Starry Night Arts - A Program For Artists

Learn about Expressionism and artists like Paul Klee, Kandinsky, Picasso, Van Gogh and Kahlo.These artists are learning about Paul Klee, first by building a castle structure with geometric forms and then by drawing the structure they made.
During this story time, young artists experience two different mediums and discover the elements and principles of drawing.  By the end of this session they will have a portfolio of cards to show next fall's art teacher.
